Disability Coverage

Protect your income if you become unable to work.

Short-Term (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage is provided through Lincoln Financial Group. Disability Insurance protects your income if you are unable to work while on an approved disability. Consult your local HR Representative to verify eligibility.

Short-Term Disability

Modine provides Short-Term Disability (STD) at no cost to you to replace a portion of your income should you become disabled and unable to work due to a non-work-related illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization. The plan covers up to 26 weeks of an approved disability.

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

Long-Term Disability insurance provides continued income replacement if you are unable to return to work after the exhaustion of your Short-Term Disability leave. The plan covers 60% of your monthly earnings, up to $15,000 a month. This coverage starts 180 days after a continuous disability and can cover you up until Social Security Normal Retirement Age.

Eligible employees are able to purchase Voluntary Long-Term Disability coverage. You will not be required to answer medical questions if you elect coverage when you are newly eligible. If you waive coverage and then elect coverage later, you will be subject to Evidence of Insurability (EOI), which must be reviewed and approved by Lincoln Financial Group. Pre-Existing Condition Limitations apply when you are enrolling in LTD for the first time and include a three month look back.
