Eligibility

Employees in an eligible class, who work at least 30 hours per week or satisfy Affordable Care Act (ACA) eligibility, are eligible for most Modine benefits and programs.

Important Deadlines!

Benefit Enrollment

You must elect benefits within 30 calendar days of your hire date. The 30-day window starts on your hire/rehire date and ends at 11:59 pm on your 30th day of employment. New hire benefit elections, for most benefits, are effective on your hire date. Once the enrollment window closes, you will not be able to make changes until Open Enrollment unless you experience a qualified life event. View the Qualifying Life Events page for more information.

Dependent Eligibility Verification

Dependent eligibility documentation is required within 45 calendar days from your hire date. If documentation is not provided, your dependents will not be covered, and they will lose eligibility for the remainder of the plan year.

Getting the most value from your benefits depends on how well you understand your options. Provided below are useful tips, tools and resources to help you complete your new hire benefits enrollment.

  • Review the Benefits Overview Presentation, Benefits Guide, and Rate Sheet to learn more about Modine’s benefit offerings.
  • Consider your benefit coverage needs for the plan year. For example, is your family financially protected if you can’t work due to an accident or illness?
  • Gather information you’ll need. If you are enrolling dependents, you’ll need their dates of birth, social security numbers, and verification documents to confirm your dependent’s eligibility for coverage. How to Elect Benefits

  1. Click the “Enroll” button in the upper right-hand corner. This will take you to Modine’s benefits enrollment website to access your new hire enrollment event through bswift. Your username is the first initial of your first name followed by your full last name. Your temporary password is the last four digits of your social security number. You will be prompted to change your password after you log in for the first time.
  2. Verify (or update) your personal information.
  3. Add your eligible dependent(s).
  4. Elect or waive your benefits. If you waive your benefits, remember to designate your life insurance beneficiaries.
  5. Review your elections and complete your enrollment.
  6. If you enrolled dependents, upload copies of acceptable documentation to your Employee File.
  7. Print a copy of your Confirmation Statement for you records.
