Modine offers life insurance coverage designed to provide financial protection for you and your loved ones. This coverage is provided in partnership with Securian Life Insurance Company.

Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)

Provided by Modine at no cost to you.

Modine automatically provides all eligible employees Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) at no cost. This coverage is equal to 1.5 times your base annual earnings (rounded to the next $1,000), up to $500,000.

Voluntary Life Insurance

You’re eligible to purchase additional life insurance for yourself and your eligible dependents at discounted group rates.

Employee

You can purchase additional coverage from one to eight times your annual earnings rounded to the next $1,000. The maximum benefit is $750,000 and cannot exceed $1,250,000 total between Basic Life and Voluntary Life coverage.

When you are newly eligible for this coverage, you may elect up to three times your annual earnings without being subject to Evidence of Insurability (EOI). You may request an increase or decrease of this coverage at any time. Any requests to add or increase coverage outside the initial eligibility period will require EOI.

Spouse

You may elect spousal coverage in $10,000 increments up to a maximum of $100,000. You may purchase up to $20,000 within 30 days of initial eligibility or within 30 days of a qualified status change without being subject to EOI. Elections made outside of an initial eligibility or qualified life event, and elections exceeding $20,000, require EOI.

Child

You may purchase child life coverage in $5,000 increments to a maximum of $20,000. Evidence of insurability is never required for this coverage. You can enroll in this coverage during the initial eligibility period, open enrollment, or within 30 days of a qualified life event.

Voluntary AD&D Insurance

This coverage pays a benefit in the event of your accidental death or a partial benefit if you sustain a covered injury. You may purchase additional AD&D coverage from one to eight times your annual earnings rounded to the next $1,000, up to a maximum of $750,000. AD&D elections never require EOI.

If you are eligible for Basic Life Insurance, you also have access to additional resources at no cost to you. These programs are available to you, your spouse, and eligible children.
